You are in business for yourself and you need to generate leads to promote your products. The advertising campaign you began has started to get results. All that information now needs to be worked in an effort to convert inquiry into sale, and you need a leads management software package to organize and handle all that data.
Whether you are a one person business or a large corporation, you still have an advertising department, and it must have access to the information gathering. Those leads need to be tagged for how they are going to be worked from here, and some scheduling must be put into place so no one forgets to follow-up on the lead. At that point you decide the next step and store the information in an organized database.
If the first time you contact a lead and it produces a sale, your shipping and handling department needs to take over and get the product out the door and on the way to the new customer. After you send them their request, you schedule your other contacts to receive another follow-up, maybe in eight days. At that time their record shows up on the screen because you set a tag to schedule it to do so and you get the correct information.
If that follow up does not result in a sale, you need a means of telling the software to keep the added details and reschedule for another followup. This might be for one month from today. It would be nice to have software that automatically brings this record back to the screen, because computers seem to have better memory than most humans.
There comes a point in life when you have done all you can and a lead is simply not going to become a sale, so you need to tag them for monthly mailings, and have the software take care of that for you. After all of this, you quit dreaming about how nice it would be, and you decide to go ahead and get a good leads management software program.
